It’s the year 2020 and I along with many others am in quarantine due to the Covid-19 virus. Being in quarantine I have a lot of time to listen to music and pursue things I have often just thought about doing. Anyone who knows me well knows I have always had a passion for music. With a lack of rhythm and coordination and overall talent I have not learnt an instrument. Yes, I have tried. My other passion that not everyone knows about is writing. Quarantunes is a result of both passions. Quarantunes focuses on the indie/alt music scene with a few exceptions here and there. I will be doing album reviews, song suggestions and just be talking about good music. (Song suggestions will be on Instagram @quarantunesblog) this site will be more diving into albums and bands on a deeper level.

Keep in mind these are my opinions I am not saying I have the best taste. I know people will disagree with me and that’s ok.

I will share some of the music that made an impression on me as a young boy. My dad often listened to bands like Radiohead, Belle and Sebastian, Moby, The Smiths, Billy Bragg and Wilco etc when I was younger. As I became a teenager I started to explore more finding Modest Mouse, Death Cab For Cutie, Wolf Parade, Interpol, Arcade Fire, The Shins, Broken Social Scene etc. These are some of my music super hero’s just to name a few. I am based out of the greater Vancouver area but Quarantunes will be talking about bands all over the globe.
